The darker area of the photos appeared completely black. And there was no way to improve that! I tried everything to fix that: re-calibrating the scanner, adjust level in post processing - nothing helps. Manufactures web site did not help at all. All advice they posted was on the level of replacing battery and replace USB cord. Obviously, that didn't help. I sent couple of messages to tech support and customer service - no response at all. After trying to fix this issue for about a week I gave up. The only thing, that this scanner was good for, is to scan receipts and paperwork: invoices, letters etc. i wouldn't recommend this scanner for anything more then that.
